Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Rendelog collects, why, and what control you have. It applies to the Rendelog mobile application and to this website.
1. Who we are
Rendelog (“the app”) is operated by Saturn Software (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request you can reach us at support@saturnsoftware.store.
2. Data stored on your device
Rendelog is local-first. The following stays on your phone unless you explicitly enable cloud sync:
- Your pantry inventory — ingredients, quantities, units, categories and expiry dates
- Your cooking preferences, dietary settings and equipment list
- Favorites, personal recipe notes, ratings and your own saved recipes
- Cooking session history and shopping list contents
You can clear this data from within the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes it from the device.
3. Account data
An account is required to use Rendelog. When you register with an email address we store that address, the display name you choose and your country. Your password is handled by Firebase Authentication and is never visible to us, and email registrations must be confirmed through a verification link before the account can be used.
If you register with Google instead, we receive your email address, display name and profile image identifier from Google. We never receive your Google password.
Account data exists so your pantry can be restored on a new device, so purchases can be validated, and so AI usage limits can be enforced.
4. AI processing
When you use an AI feature — recipe generation, the cooking chat, substitutions or cooking rescue — the relevant context is sent to our AI provider so a response can be produced. That context can include the recipe you are viewing, the ingredients involved and the question you typed.
We do not send your full pantry, your account identity or your cooking history unless it is needed to answer the specific request. AI requests are counted against your monthly allowance so that limits and abuse protection can be enforced.
5. Usage and diagnostic data
We collect aggregated, non-identifying analytics about how the app and this website are used — which screens are opened, which features are used, crash and error reports. This tells us what to fix and what to build. It is not used to build advertising profiles of you.
6. Third-party services
Rendelog relies on a small number of established providers. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Google Play services — app distribution, sign-in and in-app purchase infrastructure
- Google Analytics — anonymised usage measurement on this website
- Firebase — hosting, cloud storage for optional sync, and crash reporting
- RevenueCat — subscription state and purchase validation
- Google AdMob — rewarded advertising on the free plan
- AI providers — processing of the requests described in section 4
7. Advertising
The free plan may show rewarded ads that you choose to watch in exchange for additional AI credit. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may use device identifiers to limit repetition and measure performance. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your Android system settings. Premium subscribers are not shown rewarded ads.
8. Children
Rendelog is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Email us and we will action the request — normally within 30 days.
10. Data retention
Local data lives on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Account data associated with an optional sign-in is retained while the account exists and removed after a deletion request. Aggregated analytics are retained in non-identifying form.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date, and where the change is significant we will surface it in the app as well.
